Thesis Statement

Every child deserves to be loved and feel safe in their home, whether they are raised by a same- sex couple or a traditional male and female couple. There should be equal opportunites for gay couples to adopt as there are for other couples, it is more important to focus on how the child will benefit from being put in a loving home than to look at how they could possibly be negatively effected by being raised by a same- sex couple.

Possible Research Topics

1. Legalizing gay marriage
People should be able to marry whoever they love and shouldn't be judged if they are attracted to the same sex. Also, once married, they should be granted the same rights as heterosexual married couples.

2. Animal Research
It's not fair for animals to be treated unfairly just because researchers don't want to risk hurting a person when the effects aren't clear. researchers should feel just as bad for hurting an innocent animal as they do when harming a human.

3. Death Penalty
I think the death penalty is completely ineffective. For many criminals, they would rather get the death penalty than spend a life in jail with no chance of parole. I think the death penalty is an easy way out of punishment for crimes committed.

4. Gay Adoption
There shouldn't be restrictions on gay couples trying to adopt a child. They are just as capable of being strong parents as any other couple. It should also be legal in every state and as if adoption isn't a hard enough process already, gay couples have even more hoops to jump through.

"Runaway Jury"

I think after beginning the movie that the outcome of the trial will favor the widow. i think Nick and Marlee might be able to start gaining control but it wont last, and in the end the jury will favor Celeste. There is already a strong case being built against the gun company. While interrogating the gun salesman, they show how procedures weren't being followed and they weren't following up on the man buying numerous guns each month. This fact shows how the company is at partial fault for the deaths.
in the movie, we have already seen that Nick and Marlee can control what goes on with the jury, but they dont have the councils convinced of their power yet. i think Fitch will try and buy them off to make sure things go in his favor. but Nick and Marlee will eventually see that the jury should vote in favor of Celeste and forget about the money.

"Each Day is a Gift and Not a Given Right"

If i created a bumper sticker to represent my philosophy of life, it would read "each day is a gift and not a given right."

I have lost many people in my life and have learned to cherish what's important to me and not take advantage of every blessing I have. Three years ago, my good friend died in a car accident. She was always so full of excitement and really lived her life to the fullest. Losing her taught me to do the same. Even though things can get really rough, i thank God just to be alive. I've realized that I have a purpose in life, and as long as I am here I will embrace it. I no longer take for granted the people who are in my life. I tell my friends and family I love them all the time and I try to be there for everyone when they need me. There's always light at the end of the tunnel and I enjoy the way I live my life with no regrets.
